Toronto, ON – (Sept 4, 2025) – Canadian Soccer Business (CSB) today announced that it will partner with TSN, Canada’s Sports Leader, to bring Canada Soccer’s Men’s National Team’s upcoming friendlies against Romania and Wales, as well as the semifinals and final of the 2025 TELUS Canadian Championship, to millions of households from coast to coast as part of a blockbuster month of Canadian soccer action.
This expanded coverage builds on the weekly CPL on TSN Match of the Week, giving fans across the country comprehensive access to both international and domestic soccer storylines as millions of households gear up for FIFA World Cup 2026, a watershed event in the history of the sport on home soil next year.
Matches will also be available on OneSoccer, providing fans with even greater access to Canadian soccer at home and abroad.
The September schedule kicks off on Friday with a Canadian soccer triple-header: Canada faces Romania, followed by CPL matches between York United FC and Cavalry FC (7:30 p.m. ET/4:30 p.m. PT) and Vancouver FC vs. Valour FC (10:30 p.m. ET/7:30 p.m. PT).
At the core of this expanded coverage is an emphasis on stability and accessibility for fans — ensuring Canadian supporters can reliably follow Canadian teams and players without uncertainty about where to watch. With FIFA World Cup 2026 and FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027 upcoming, and Canada’s domestic competitions continuing to grow, consistent soccer coverage is critical to giving Canadian talent at all levels the visibility it deserves and building a stronger, more engaged national audience for the game.
Canada Men’s National Team Back in Action
Canada Soccer’s Men’s National Team continues preparations for FIFA World Cup 2026 in less than a year’s time. Currently ranked a program-best No. 28 in the world, Canada faces No. 48 Romania in Bucharest (Friday, Sept. 5 at 2 p.m. ET/11 a.m. PT) and No. 31 Wales (Tuesday, Sept. 9 at 2:45 p.m. ET/11:45 a.m. PT) in Swansea during the September international window.
Coverage will be presented by the Canadian Premier League and feature top on-air talent from both TSN and OneSoccer, including James Duthie, Jimmy Brennan, Kevin Kilbane, Kristian Jack, Matthew Scianitti, Luke Wileman and Steven Caldwell.
Domestic Cup Drama
The 2025 TELUS Canadian Championship reaches its decisive stages this month, with four clubs chasing the Voyageurs Cup, Canada’s domestic club title, and a place in the 2026 Concacaf Champions Cup, the region’s premier club competition.
- Vancouver Whitecaps FC vs. Forge FC (Tuesday, Sept. 16 at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT): Tied 2-2 after the first leg, the addition of German legend Thomas Müller to Whitecaps squad adds intrigue as Forge looks to upset another MLS side.
- Atlético Ottawa vs. Vancouver FC (Thursday, Sept. 18 at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT): Vancouver FC carries a 3-1 lead into the second leg, while Ottawa seeks a historic comeback to reach its first Canadian Championship Final.
The winners will meet in the championship match on Wednesday, Oct. 1, with Canadian men’s club soccer supremacy on the line.
Coverage of the remaining Canadian Championship matches will be produced by OneSoccer and feature OneSoccer talent.
