Toronto, ON – (October 28, 2022)- The Canadian Premier League and Canada Soccer today announces a new multi-year partnership that establishes Degree Deodorant as the league’s Official Deodorant and Antiperspirant Partner.
Degree, also known around the world as Rexona, Sure, and Shield, makers of the world’s No. 1 antiperspirant, also becomes the Official Deodorant and Antiperspirant Partner of Canada Soccer’s National Teams. The multi-year partnership was negotiated by Canadian Soccer Business.
Degree believes in the power of movement to transform lives and is committed to creating a world where everyone has the freedom and confidence to move. The brand knows that everyone faces personal and societal limits but worry about sweat and odour should never hold anyone back from pushing beyond their limits. Degree is looking forward to partnering with Canada Soccer and Canadian Premier League on building inclusive sports in Canada and supporting the growth of soccer in Canada and on the global stage.
“We are excited to announce Degree as the Official Deodorant and Antiperspirant of the Canadian Premier League,” said Mark Noonan, Commissioner, Canadian Premier League and CEO, Canadian Soccer Business. “Getting Canadians moving is integral to the health and wellness of our society, as well as the further growth of soccer in the country. We look forward to working with Degree to ensure everyone in our community is empowered by the freedom to move.”
In partnership with Canada Soccer and the CPL, Degree will work to empower Canadians with the confidence and opportunity to move through soccer-inspired programming.
“Degree’s purpose is built around movement and pushing your limits beyond personal or societal pressures. We’re proud that our products can be trusted to provide non-stop sweat and odour protection that gives all Canadians the confidence to keep moving,” said Rishabh Gandhi, Head of Personal Care for Unilever Canada.
“Canada Soccer, the Canadian Premier League and its players have shown us that they are here to push their limits every day, which makes the sport a passion for many Canadians and this partnership a strong fit for the brand.”
As part of Degree’s quest to get Canadian soccer fans moving, the brand plans to work with Canada Soccer, Canadian Premier League teams and player ambassadors to bring the shared attitude of “Not Done Yet” to life. The brand will elevate the fan experience and inspire Canadians to push their own limits on and off the pitch.
“On behalf of Canada Soccer, I’d like to welcome Degree to our growing corporate partnership family,” said Earl Cochrane, General Secretary, Canada Soccer. “These are transformative times for our sport in our country, and the continued integration of reputable brands into our ecosystem bodes well for our future. We look forward to working together to continue the important work of growing soccer’s influence and impact nationwide.”
